Safe Berks Walk For NO MORE Will Kick Off Art on the Avenue!

On Saturday June 16, 2018, the Safe Berks Walk For NO MORE will kick off Art on the Avenue in West Reading. Art on the Avenue, an annual community celebration of art, music, food and fun, attracts thousands of people each year.

Walk For NO MORE participants will gather from 9-10 a.m. for check in at McDonald’s, 810 Hill Ave., Wyomissing. At 10 a.m., together we will walk down Penn Avenue to the 400 block.

This walk makes a statement. We are saying together, as a community: NO MORE domestic violence! NO MORE sexual assault!

After the Walk For NO MORE, Safe Berks will offer entertainment, children’s crafts, and other activities from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the 400 block of Penn Avenue, as part of Art on the Avenue. Safe Berks staff and volunteers will be present all day, sharing information about the services we offer survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In addition to raising funds to support Safe Berks, we will also raise awareness about these important issues.

NO MORE is a groundbreaking symbol designed to increase awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault and to create change. Domestic violence and sexual assault are community issues. It takes the entire community to end these crimes. The Safe Berks Walk For NO MORE provides the opportunity for the entire community to come together and publicly take a stand against domestic violence and sexual assault.
